Summer term 2024, Week 2

Summer Term 2024, Week 2

Week 2 of the Summer Term has been filled with fun. The pool is warm and all the pupils enjoyed their first swimming lessons. We hosted cricket matches on both Wednesday and Thursday, playing Blundell’s and Mount Kelly. My thanks to Tim, Kate and Martyn on the operations side for working so hard to get the pool and cricket fields ready for the start of term in such diabolical weather; it has been a real mission!

The Future Schools Exhibition on Tuesday was very well attended by pupils and parents and the senior schools were highly complimentary about the children they met. The Head of Exeter School, Mrs Louise Simpson, looked like ‘The Pied Piper’ as she handed out chocolates! This is a hugely useful event in the St Peter’s calendar; an opportunity for parents to compare their choices and ask challenging questions. Thank you to the Admissions and Marketing team for making it all happen.

This week, we held the half-termly PTA meeting and discussed, amongst other things, the Summer Fete scheduled on the Friday before half-term (24 May) and the Summer Ball next year. We are looking for a parent to lead the sponsorship and auction prizes element for the Summer Ball Committee. If anyone would be interested, please let me know by emailing me on head@stpetersprepschool.co.uk and I can give further details.

There is lots more information to come with regard to the Summer Fete and thank you to Kathryn Insall and Claire Wellington-Smith for pulling this together.

Have a lovely weekend.
Charlotte Johnston, Head.
