Sport For All

Fostering a culture of active living & achievement in every child

A Sporting Legacy Unveiled

Nurturing athletic excellence & inspiring future legends

St Peter’s is involved in over 400 sports fixtures a year, offering every pupil the experience of playing competitive sport in their journey through the school.

In addition, our activity programme allows children to explore more specialist sports and outdoor education generally, for example, martial arts, tennis, dance, squash, horse riding and sailing. In fact, two of our pupils became St Peter’s first IAPS’ National Sailing Champions sailing an RS Feva in the Under 11 class, following in the footsteps of former St Peter’s pupil and Olympian, Ben Rhodes.

Pupils from Nursery to Year 8 are taught by our team of PE teachers and specialist sports coaches with the result that basic sporting skills are embedded and built upon from the age of three onwards.

The Heartbeat of Competitive Spirit

Over 400 fixtures a year

Coached by specialists, the children have two games lessons per week, an hour of PE and a further match afternoon. We pride ourselves in providing equal opportunities, with all genders being coached in rugby, hockey, football, cricket, swimming, athletics and girls also play netball. The whole school cross country ‘Harefield Run’ is a community event for parents and staff as well as the children with a cream tea enjoyed at the end.

“Dylan has flourished during his 2 years at St Peter’s. The school is wonderfully nurturing, fun and incredibly good at noticing and developing every child’s particular interests and talents.”

Cultivating Healthy Habits

Holistic athletic development

Sport is encouraged so children learn to keep fit and healthy. Many of the children also play locally and at County level. We believe that being part of a team is an essential life skill and we are proud of our ‘sport for all’ philosophy.

St Peter’s Preparatory School boasts a number of recent notable sporting alumni e.g. Jack Turner, Michael Cooper, Emma Corney and Jack Fanning.
