Expeditions & Activities

A world beyond the classroom at St Peter’s

Extra-curricular

Nurturing well-rounded excellence

Extra-curricular provision at St Peter’s is broad and extensive. On Friday afternoons, the school timetable is collapsed and children choose from a range of activities from sailing to coding, kickboxing or being part of the school’s eco-council group.

Diverse Activities

Enriching school life

Activities and choice form part of the Curriculum and the school day; but, there is also a range of lunchtime and after-school activities which are included in the fees or at an extra cost for specialist teachers (e.g. martial arts).

Trips & Expeditions

Broadening horizons

On average, a trip is run every week of term time; the majority of these are included in the fees.

We make the most of the local area with trips to farms, museums, galleries and castles as well as Exeter on the train for our Reception children! All children visit the theatre every year.

Overnight residential trips commence in Year 3 and culminate in a week-long trip to France for all Year 8 pupils. There is a three-year leadership programme in Upper School (Years 6 – 8) that explores the concept of leadership and encourages resilience. Spirit of Adventure develops outdoor leadership skills finishing the three years with an expedition on Dartmoor. In recent years, Upper School pupils have had the chance to go on trips to Barcelona, Rome & Sorrento, Iceland and Madrid, as well as sports tours to destinations like Jersey and Cardiff.
