Dear Parents,
As we begin the new term, we hope you are staying safe and warm despite the recent snowy and icy weather. The wintry conditions have certainly added some challenges to the start of term, and we appreciate the efforts of all families who travel to St Peter’s each day, often from quite a distance. Your commitment to ensuring the smooth running of our school community is greatly valued.
The term has started on a positive note, with pupils settling back into their routines and engaging with their learning. Our staff began the term with a productive INSET day, which included training on the use of artificial intelligence to support teaching and learning. This session sparked some interesting discussions and provided useful insights into how we can enhance our teaching practices and enrich pupils’ educational experiences.
Alongside classroom activities, we are excited that the football, hockey, and netball season is now upon us, and we look forward to the training sessions and fixtures planned for the weeks ahead.
A quick reminder that pupils should be equipped for the colder weather with their school coats and green or navy hats and gloves, all clearly named. Thank you for your support in helping to ensure that the children are comfortable and prepared for both lessons and outdoor activities.
Help Us Keep the Second-Hand Uniform Sales Going!
The second-hand uniform sales at St Peter’s are greatly valued by both current and prospective parents. They also serve as a key fundraiser for the PTA, directly supporting important school projects. Unfortunately, without a dedicated team to coordinate the management of these sales, we risk losing this wonderful service altogether.
We’re seeking enthusiastic parents to take part in managing our second-hand uniform sales. Whether you’re an individual or part of a group, your involvement would make a meaningful difference. If you’re interested, you could even form a small committee to oversee this vital initiative. We are very grateful to the parents who currently assist with running the sales on the day, but we now urgently need volunteers to handle the planning and management side.
If you’re interested in helping us continue this valuable service, please email us at head@stpetersprepschool.co.uk. Together, we can ensure the second-hand uniform sales continue to benefit our school community – I look forward to hearing from interested parties.
Despite the chill in the air, we’re looking forward to a successful term filled with growth and achievement.
Best wishes,
Charlotte Johnston, Head
