64% of pupils in Year 8 at St Peter’s Preparatory School in 2020 were successful in being awarded scholarships to their senior school of choice. For the last 5 years, the percentage of Year 8 leavers who have been offered scholarships has been steadily rising. 56% of the 2013-2014 cohort of Year 8s achieved scholarships and that figure now stands at 64% – an all-time high.
St Peter’s Preparatory School is non-selective yet, in 2020, six of our Year 8 pupils sat the Exeter School entrance exam and all of them were offered places with one achieving an Academic Scholarship.
The majority of our pupils leave us at Year 8; however we do have other leaving transition points, when pupils join selective schools such as Colyton Grammar School.
