Fresh Air, Woods, Mud, Sea & Sand

Learning outside the classroom is a large part of life at St Peter’s Preparatory School. We know that being outdoors in the fresh air and within nature has huge benefits for the children physically and mentally.

The school is situated overlooking the Exe Estuary and within a 10-minute drive of Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton beaches as well as the wilderness of Woodbury Common. Our younger children enjoy Beach school regularly and older children can sail every week in the summer or learn to Wakeboard. All children use our forest area and wildlife garden whether for bird watching, den building, tree climbing or taking part in Science or Geography lessons.

Gardening and growing club is being set up this year with the intention of it being a community affair that is enjoyed by all. Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy reach for walks, adventures and expeditions as the school makes the most of its position in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
