Extra curricular provision at St Peter’s is broad and extensive. We want children to find the things they love, to broaden experiences and opportunities so that they can try things they may never have tried.

Friday afternoon activities give children a broad and flexible opportunity to try new things from Beach club to Martial arts.

Each term, a whole range of activities is offered on a Friday afternoon, including:

Year 8 Leavers’ Programme: Haldon Cycle, Money Sense Morning, beach day and RNLI instruction, photography workshop, Topsham cycle, drugs & alcohol awareness, cookery and lifeskills and theatre visit at Bristol Hippodrome, helping hands morning, careers convention, murder mystery, Circus Berzercus day and Spirit of Adventure Cross Keys day.

In Year 7 children experience a week in France at Chateau de la Baudonniere, where they are fully immersed in the French language and way of life, enjoying three-course meals and the flavours and sights of a French market in the beautiful town of Dinan. They take part in various activities including: archery, climbing, aeroball, bread making, fencing and an assault course.

Our Upper School pupils watched ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ at the Princess Theatre, Torquay. Year 3 & 4 visited the Northcott Theatre to be delighted by Horrible Histories – The Terrible Tudors and The Awful Egyptians, respectively. Year 5 enjoyed ‘Tom Gates Live’ at the Princess Theatre, Torquay.

Year 6 ventured out of the county twice: to see the sights of London, and appreciate the intrigues of the Eden Project.  Years 3, 4 & 5 relished the chance to experience the outdoors in their respective residentials. Our 2019 sports’ tour went to Jersey.
