  • Job title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Part-time) (Fixed Term Contract)
  • Description: St Peter’s Preparatory School, Lympstone is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in our Early Years setting who has specific, identified, special educational needs.

    Experience of working with SEND children, specifically autism and speech and language difficulties, is essential, as is an appropriate TA or EYFS qualification.

    The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

    The role is term-time only and will be 6 to 8 hours per week spread across two days. This is a fixed term contract until 8 July 2021.

    The salary is between £2,181 and £2,908 per annum (depending on the weekly hours worked), including statutory holiday entitlement and paid in twelve equal monthly instalments.

  • Job title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)
  • Description: St Peter’s Preparatory School, Lympstone is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide support to teaching staff in the academic development and pastoral care of individual children or groups of children, including SEND pupils, from Nursery to Year 8. The role holder will be expected to teach whole classes in accordance with teacher-set plans as required.

    We are looking for someone with a positive and proactive approach, with a love and enthusiasm towards the education of children. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
    Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent.
    Excellent written and verbal communication, with both children and adults.
    Strong organisational skills, including prioritisation and finishing tasks to completion.
    Effective team-working, demonstrating loyalty and support to colleagues.
    Resilience and flexibility to manage diverse and sometimes conflicting demands.

    The role is term-time only, working Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 08:30 to 16:00. The salary is up to £8,400 per annum, including statutory paid holiday entitlement, dependent on qualifications and experience. This will be a fixed term contract covering a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months.

    The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
