Exploring prep schools’ responses to coronavirus

A series of reports by IAPS and ITN Productions highlighting the impact of Covid-19 on four prep schools

IAPS and ITN Productions Industry News have co-produced a fast-turnaround series of reports highlighting the impact of Covid-19 on four of the UK’s prep schools and the rapid measures introduced in order to adapt to the lockdown legislation and restrictions.

At the end of March, the way students learn and the way they are taught changed dramatically. As the government announced the closure of schools across the country, teachers were challenged with finding new ways of digitalising teaching and school facilities as education moved online.

“IAPS Covid-19 Response Series” explores how four leading prep schools adapted their teaching methods in response to the pandemic crisis whilst maintaining the highest quality teaching standards and pastoral care. The series also examines the impact remote learning has had on pupils, parents, teachers and the wider community; highlights the innovative solutions delivering alternative curriculums to keep children engaged and investigates what the future might look like for UK prep schools in a new pandemic-informed world.

The IAPS Covid-19 Response Series will form part of a wider “Prepping for the Future” campaign with two further series launching on 12 October 2020 and Spring 2021.

Elizabeth Fisher-Robins, Head of ITN Productions Industry News said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with IAPS to produce a Covid-19 Response Series exploring the rapid measures taken by UK’s prep schools in light of the pandemic. The films explore the vital work being done by the teaching community during this challenging year – from the use of multi-media platforms to increased time outdoors once schools open – and highlight the inspiring solutions and initiatives being introduced in prep schools around the country”.

The programme features key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading UK Prep Schools:

  • Holme Grange School
  • The Oratory Preparatory School
  • Perrott Hill
  • St Peter’s Preparatory School
