Future Senior Schools

Our Head, Mrs Charlotte Johnston, meets individually with parents to advise on future schools and take them through the process. We have much experience and we look at the academic profile of the child, as well as family circumstances, to find the right fit.

St Peter’s Preparatory School is non-selective yet, in 2022, 75% of our Year 8 pupils who went on to join boarding senior schools at Year 9 did so with a scholarship. Our 2022 Year 8 leavers secured senior school places at Exeter School, King’s College, Millfield, Stover School, Taunton School and Wellington School, and scholarships were achieved in Academic, Art, Computer Science, Design & Technology, Music and Sport.

As an independent prep school, we take our duty in advising our parents on which senior schools to consider for their children very seriously. To support parents and final year pupils, we organise a Future Schools’ Exhibition every two years where we invite a large range of senior schools to exhibit. The Future Schools’ Exhibition is open to all parents who want to find out more information about senior schools. You do not have to be a St Peter’s parent to attend. Our next exhibition is taking place in 2024. This is an opportunity to meet representatives from a range of senior schools who will discuss how their school might suit your child.

Exhibitors typically include Blundell’s School; Bryanston School; Cheltenham College; Cheltenham Ladies’ College; Clifton College; Exeter School; King’s College; King’s School, Bruton; The Maynard School; Millfield; Plymouth College; Queen’s College; Sherborne Girls; Sherborne School; Stover School; Taunton School; Trinity School; Wellington School; Wells Cathedral School and West Buckland School.

These are the schools our senior school leavers have joined over the last seven academic years:
