What a Wonderful Week at St Peter’s!
The nativities are a cherished tradition at St Peter’s, dating back as far as anyone can remember. In fact, the hat worn by Benjamin in Reception this year has graced the head of a ‘King’ in every performance that Mrs Stevens can recall, and this marks her 27th nativity at St Peter’s!
We ended last week with the house singing competition, a beloved community event that brings joy to staff and pupils alike, before diving into nativities week. Watching our youngest children perform on a proper stage and sing traditional carols is always a heartwarming highlight of the festive season.
Before we break for the holidays next week, I’d like to draw your attention to four important updates:
Activities
Don’t forget to submit your preferences for next term’s activities as soon as possible. The deadline is Tuesday, so please ensure you complete this promptly. Instructions on using the new system are included later in this newsletter.Attendance
Following new Government expectations, we’ve updated our Attendance Policy. Please find an important letter attached which contains a link to the new policy. Regular attendance is crucial for ensuring your child’s progress and learning.Reports
We’re excited to announce that the Baccalaureate Grid has moved online! From next week, you’ll be able to access it through the Schoolbase portal, alongside tutor reports. A letter explaining these changes, as well as a presentation on how we assess academic performance, is also attached.Exciting News: Extended Wrap-Around Childcare
We’re pleased to announce that, starting in January, our wrap-around childcare will be extended to run from 07:30 to 18:15 every day for children in Year 1 to Year 8, at no additional charge. Please note that this extended provision does not include breakfast.
For the next two terms, the Breakfast Club in the Dining Room will continue to be available as a separate booking with an additional charge. However, please be aware that this service will conclude in September, coinciding with changes to our boarding arrangements.
Finally, please remember that the Carol Service is at 14:00 next week for Years 3 to 8 only. Please note the change in time from previous years.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
