Autumn term 2025, week 11

As the festive season settles over St Peter’s, I want to extend a huge thank you to all our parents who have helped make Christmas at St Peter’s truly magical. From the sparkling trees, the hand painted candy canes, present garlands and stockings to the Christmas pudding teapot in my office, the school is a true Christmas grotto! The children’s wonder and joy has been a delight to witness – the magic of St Peter’s in all its glory.

As we think about the upcoming festivities, I expect many of our older children may be requesting mobile phones as a Christmas present. If this is the case, you may be interested to read the item further in the newsletter about appropriate child-friendly phones.

A huge congratulations to our Year 8 pupils who have been awarded scholarships in recent weeks. There are still plenty more scholarship opportunities ahead and our Year 8 cohort continues to work incredibly hard. We are very proud of them all.

One of the highlights this week was seeing the Year 8s who have been with us since Pre-prep, gleefully gadding about with tea towels on their heads and stars for nativity dress-up, filming fun reflections on their earliest Nativity performances. The dress rehearsals next week, when the whole school will watch, are always a highlight of the calendar.  For those parents coming – enjoy!

A heartfelt thank you to Claire B and the music department for putting on a wonderful Upper School music assembly and a delightful Lower School teatime concert. It was particularly lovely to have a harp in the school again, beautifully played by Phoebe – a real treat.

Further congratulations go to our pupils who have been offered parts in Annie which will be performed at the Northcott next year and means exciting times ahead for our talented performers!

Our admissions team has been busy welcoming a new Nursery starter this Monday and hosting various taster days throughout the week. Thank you to all members of the St Peter’s extended family for making new parents and children feel warmly at home so quickly.

As you read through our Information Letter I hope that you enjoy the various photographs within it. The majority were taken by our Photography Club this week when they went on a Christmas Walk with Mr Barry.

Have a lovely weekend.

Charlotte
