Autumn Term, Week 8

There has been some glorious sport, this week, with the U7 tag rugby festival on Tuesday. Children in Year 2 were hopping with excitement to take part in their first fixture and the Hallett Field was a tremendous venue.  Well done to Mr Doku for arranging such a superb event.

I enjoyed watching the U10, U11 and U13 rugby yesterday.  Although it was a little muddy for those competing on the Abram Field, the grounds looked marvellous and everyone enjoyed a full afternoon of sport followed by a very welcome match tea.  I hear that the girls played well in their hockey matches and I will be making sure to watch their fixtures in the coming weeks.

I hope that you enjoyed a good half term.  The children have been telling me all about their adventures over lunch with tales of Mexico, Lanzarote, Portugal, Cornwall and cosy times at home.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading over the holidays about wellbeing and thought I would use this newsletter to signpost families to things they can do at home.

Please try asking these questions around the dinner table (and take time to turn the television, iPads and your own phones off!):

  • What did someone do to make you happy today?

  • What did you do to make someone happy today?

Have a good weekend. Don’t forget – ODD SOCKS day for Anti-bullying week on Monday.
