Spring term 2025, week 2

Dear Parents

What a lovely start to this week when I was delighted to award Izzy W with the Academic Book of Excellence for achieving a 100% score in her end of unit French test in the writing component, completed in controlled conditions. It was wonderful to read Izzy’s outstanding piece of writing in French about her hopes and dreams for the future.

It has been lovely to hear about the trips and activities that have been going on this week. Of special mention were the Year 4 visit to Escot for an Anglo Saxon day and Reception’s visit to Budleigh Salterton to go bird watching. The children, and staff, came back to school with smiles on their faces and lots to talk about.

There are some changes at St Peter’s that will take place over the coming months. At the end of the Summer term, we will sadly say goodbye to Mr Friendship, who has been an integral part of life at St Peter’s Prep. Mr Friendship has secured an exciting new role as a lead teacher of Primary PE and Sport at a British International School in Saudi Arabia and will be moving in August. Whilst we are delighted for him and this wonderful opportunity, we will greatly miss his dedication and contributions to our school.

We will be replacing Mr Friendship with a Games Coach and are expediting the recruitment process to the start of this Summer term and aim to appoint a specialist in Cricket. With the cricket nets opening this year, we are committed to strengthening our cricket coaching, and this new appointment will be a valuable addition to our Games department.

Have a lovely weekend.

Charlotte Johnston, Head
