Dear Parents,
We have been fortunate to enjoy some glorious spring sunshine on site, bringing a renewed energy to the school. It has been wonderful to see lessons moving outdoors, with doors wide open and daffodils in full bloom; a true sign that spring has arrived.
This week, Fame Jr arrived at Exmouth Pavilion, performed by our unbelievably talented cast from the Upper School. The setting – a Performing Arts School – was the perfect backdrop for our actors, who delivered many standout performances.
On Wednesday afternoon, children from Years 5 to 8 were transported down to the theatre, dressed in fabulous ’80s gear, to watch the show. The atmosphere was electric, filled with joy. Parents attended the evening performances on Tuesday and Wednesday, creating a truly special experience for everyone involved. My guests, including the Heads of Exeter, Wellington and Stover schools and the Deputy Head of King’s College, Taunton, joined me in a standing ovation (and a dance!) during the final encore.
This was an incredible opportunity for our pupils to perform in a professional theatre, complete with stage lighting, sound, and technical effects. A huge thank you to Miss Morris for her dedication and hard work over the past six months; her efforts truly paid off! This was a real team effort, and I also want to acknowledge Mrs Brickley and Mrs Kingston for their invaluable contributions, as well as all the staff who worked tirelessly to make this production such a triumph. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Not ones to do things by halves, we also enjoyed a fantastic House Pancake Race, and I was especially touched when the school sang Happy Birthday to me. What a moment!
To round off the week, World Book Day on Thursday was a resounding success. A special thank you to Mrs Board-Medley and Mrs Robertson for organising some wonderful reading activities with our younger pupils, including buddy reading sessions this afternoon. The costumes were truly exceptional, and it was wonderful to see the children so engaged. Thank you to all the parents for your support at home, it makes such a difference!
Now, we all look forward to a well-deserved rest.
Have a lovely weekend with your families.
