Spring term 2026, week 3

Congratulations to all pupils who sat the Exeter School entrance examinations. We are delighted that, once again, every pupil was successful and passed with flying colours. We also have further scholarship examinations taking place next week, and then we will be nearly there.

Huge thanks must go to all the staff involved in preparing the children for their entrance exams. The tutoring, encouragement and pastoral support involved represent a significant commitment, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented team who always aim high for our pupils.

We have also been busy with Open Days last week and, for the first time, ran a Q&A and School in Action session specifically for our Year 6 parents, focusing on Year 7 and Year 8. We recorded the presentation (slightly shaky camera work and all!) and would be very happy to share it with any other parents who would like to know more about life in Years 7 and 8. Please do email head@stpetersprepschool.co.uk and we can send you the link.

Looking ahead, we are planning a similar School in Action event in the Summer Term for Year 2 parents, to introduce them to the Lower School. I hope this will be a helpful and informative opportunity for families.

It has been a very wet week, with matches sadly cancelled on both Wednesday and Thursday. Squash, however, continues at pace, with our highest sign-up for individual squash lessons for a number of years, including pupils from Reception. Squash is a real bonus sport at St Peter’s, led by experienced peripatetic coaches. The children love the challenge, whether working individually, in pairs or in groups.

Wishing you a lovely weekend with your families.
