St Peter’s Preparatory School, Lympstone is seeking a dedicated, proactive and compassionate Early Years Teaching and General Assistant to join our team. This role is central to supporting the academic, social and emotional development of children in Early Years and Key Stage 1, including pupils with additional needs.
Working alongside teaching colleagues, you will assist with the delivery of lessons, provide 1:1 and small‑group support, contribute to observations and assessments, and help to promote the wellbeing, progress and independence of all pupils. You will also play an important part in the wider life of the school, undertaking supervisory duties from Nursery to Year 8, supporting with administrative tasks, and helping to ensure that classrooms and communal spaces remain organised, safe and welcoming.
The ideal candidate will bring experience of working with young children and a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and its application in daily practice. Excellent communication skills, a positive and proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.
A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification (or higher) is required. A Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable, although training can be provided.

This is a full-time, term-time only position (including INSET days), working Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:30 and Friday 08:00-17:00 (with 60-minutes of unpaid break(s) each day). The salary is £21,352 per annum (including paid holiday entitlement), which will be paid in twelve equal monthly instalments.
