Head of Grounds (Sport)

St Peter’s Preparatory School, Lympstone is seeking a skilled and passionate Head of Grounds (Sport) to oversee the upkeep and development of our 28-acre school grounds. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Compliance, and working alongside the Head of Grounds (Horticulture), you will play a key role in maintaining the school’s grounds and field line marking to the highest standards. There will also be a requirement to support the general maintenance of the School.

The ideal candidate will have experience in grounds and/or gardening management and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities. Relevant qualifications or significant experience in sports ground maintenance is essential. An understanding of health and safety is essential, as is a valid driving licence. This role involves physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

The role is part-time, 30 hours per week, worked over four fixed days (Monday-Friday, ideally to include Tuesdays), 08:00 to 16:30, during term-time and school holidays, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break each day. The salary is £24,180, which includes six weeks’ paid holiday (plus Bank Holidays and generous Christmas closure).
