This is a part‑time permanent opportunity for the right person to join our outstanding staff team from the start of the next academic year as Head of Learning Success / SENCO, working in a job‑share arrangement. The successful candidate will lead the day‑to‑day provision of learning support for pupils with special educational needs and disability (SEND), including those with English as an additional language (EAL), providing specialist guidance to secure high‑quality teaching and the effective use of resources. They will also lead intervention groups across the school.
Working closely with senior leaders and teaching colleagues, the post‑holder will identify pupils requiring additional support, carry out assessments, maintain records and individual plans, liaise with parents and external professionals, and contribute to EHCP applications and reviews. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children is essential.
We are seeking a qualified teacher with experience of teaching children up to Year 6 (and ideally up to Year 8), who holds, or is working towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination or evidence of extensive SEN-specific professional development and has excellent knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice. A proven track record as a SENCO, strong communication and organisational skills, and a positive, proactive approach are essential.
