Christmas has arrived at St Peter’s and the magic has begun. On Monday, I was delighted to welcome Mary, Joseph and the donkey to my office for the night as they travel around the school helping us to think about their long journey to Bethlehem. Year 2 pupils were very excited to deliver their special visitors.
Thank you to Mrs. Gillies and the PTA for their decoration of the school in time for Christmas. It is the first time with balloons and the children gasped when they saw the wonderful arch surrounding the doors to the Learning Hub! Our mini Christmas Fair takes place today (Friday) and thank you for all the gifts you have provided for the children to give their families. Please don’t forget our collection of gifts for Moldova which you can drop into school.
The Nativities and Christmas plays are being rehearsed, as is the Carol Service. Please do check the arrangements for this as we do not want any children left behind at school on the last day of term!
I was away on an ISI inspection last week, miles away in Chichester and experienced a dreadful journey to Leamington for IAPS this week, both of which made me realise I do not miss commuting for work at all! I am so looking forward to the next couple of weeks with the children at St Peter’s.
Thank you to those who have completed the form with any details of children’s external achievements. I will close this at the end of the term. It is wonderful to read about all the surf lifesavers, trampolinists and gymnasts out there!
Have a good weekend. I expect many families will be putting up their Christmas trees. The Johnstons certainly will!
