The term has got off to a flying start. Welcome to our new pupils and welcome back to the ones who have been with us for a while.
St Peter’s is a lovely place to be in September, particularly as the swimming pool remains open for a bit longer! I have spent much time in classrooms over the last few days as well as enjoying seeing the children tearing around at playtime, greeting their friends and enthusiastically chatting over lunch. A couple of our new staff who have come from other schools have been hugely impressed with the manners and behaviour of the children as they move around the site, which has made us all feel very proud. Some of the girls have been delighted to be wearing the new shorts and trousers option as you can see from our featured image.
We had a welcome back with the St Peter’s PTA drinks party for adults with a film and snacks for pupils. We very much looked forward to seeing everyone there and starting the new year with a great party! I am grateful to parents for working with our tutor teams, asking questions or queries for the first few days. We hope that everyone makes use of the Year 8s who are on-hand to help first thing in the morning and the drop off facility. In particular, Year 3 and up from week 2.
Our head of art, technology and co-curricular, Mrs Emma Tyson will be leaving us at the end of this term and we wish her well as she moves to Liverpool with her husband. Emma has worked at St Peter’s for 18 years and will be missed enormously! We start the process of recruiting her replacement this week. I leave by sharing the new thought of the week with you.
