This has been a great week with some off-site adventures.
Year 1 became little food detectives at Tesco in Exmouth, finding out where our favourite foods come from, and asking plenty of curious questions along the way. On Thursday, Year 3 visited Torquay Museum to dig into local history, exploring artefacts and stories that make our area come alive. Trips like these are full of opportunity – to explore, discover, and see the world outside the classroom – and help our children feel part of the community around them.
Drama is buzzing across the school, too, this week. Every child enjoys a weekly specialist lesson, building confidence, creativity, and teamwork, all valuable skills for their future and the jobs, we are told, that don’t even exist yet. Next week, Year 5 will perform Alice in Wonderland at the Blackmore Theatre and, after half-term, Upper School pupils take the stage with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Performing in a real local theatre gives children unforgettable experiences while honing skills that will help them far into the future. It was fun to see Harry, who is playing the white rabbit, cross in front of me when I was on crossing duty the other morning with his white rabbit hat on!
Whether on trips, in drama, or on stage, it’s been a week of learning, laughter, and local adventures. We also had a comedy moment in the St Peter’s staff room with Dr Evans putting out a request to ask if anyone had ‘seen her jar of marbles’. It seems that Dr Evans has officially lost her marbles.
Wishing everyone a restful and well-deserved weekend.
Charlotte
