The school has been awash with excited children over the past couple of weeks as they have taken off for their various residentials. Last week, Year 6 was in London and this week Year 8 is in France staying in a Chateau, speaking only French and taking part in lots of activities including kayaking, climbing, team games and the famous mud run! They are having a fantastic time and my huge thanks to the staff who are accompanying them. As I write, they are off to the French Market in St Malo to practise their French!
Year 5 is currently at Roadford Lake taking part in a watersports and camping residential. So far, the children have been sailing, canoeing and paddle boarding, all in the beautiful sunshine. I am looking forward to seeing them return later.
Next week, there is a trip to Dartmoor for Year 7, where the pupils undertake a mini ‘DofE’ and the Year 8 Leavers’ programme commences with a cycling trip to Haldon Forest.
I will be interviewing Year 7 pupils in the weeks ahead for the Year 8 positions of responsibility for next year. It is all coming around very fast!
Have a lovely weekend.
Charlotte Johnston, Head.
