Year 8 set off for their annual field trip to west Cornwall in high spirits on Friday 20 September. The trip is always a highlight of the year!
Their first port of call was the beautiful beach at Perrauthnoe in Mounts Bay, where the Year 8s investigated the impact of the sea on the coastline and prepared travel blogs to attract future visitors. Next stop: Porth Nanven, at the end of the Cot Valley, which provided a contrast in terms of location, facilities and attractions. Sadly, there was no surf at Sennen Cove for a surfing session on the Saturday morning; but, the alternative activities (such as paddling their boards across the harbour and beach games, building their leadership skills). On the Sunday, the Year 8s continued the St Peter’s tradition of visiting the Victorian ‘rocket’ at Cape Cornwall, combining this with a bit of seal spotting. The pupils were a huge delight to be around all weekend and fully embraced the activities on offer. Thank you to Mrs Parker and Mr Budgett for organising and running such a fantastic weekend.
