Our School Matrons play an integral role in the smooth-running of the school. Where would we be without them?!
Well, what does a School Matron do? The role is varied and includes caring for unwell or injured pupils and staff, providing pitch-side first aid for sports matches and supporting the Boarding Houseparents in the pastoral care of our boarders. Our Matrons are a familiar sight to parents on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, stood on the Hallett field, first aid bag at the ready, should any pupil need care.
The Matrons are also a key wellbeing lead for both pupils and staff and sits on the School’s Wellbeing Development Committee. They play a part in helping and assisting teaching staff in their support for older pupils, either individually or in class groups, around the challenges of puberty as well as matters of mental and physical health and wellbeing. They ensure all of our pupils are cared for, championed and have another person to whom they can talk.
