As we reach the halfway point of the summer term, we’re delighted to reflect on the many memorable moments that have made this such a joyful and eventful few weeks at St Peter’s. With five weeks of glorious sunshine, our school has been bursting with energy, colour, and community spirit.
Highlights from Around the School
We kicked off the term with our much-loved whole school Harefield Run; a celebration of perseverance, teamwork, and fresh air. Hot on its heels was our VE Day street party picnic, where bunting, music, and shared food brought history to life in the most heartwarming way.
Our Charity Beach Day was another standout moment, raising money for the RNLI and Charlie’s Beach School in Exmouth. Pupils revelled in sandcastle competitions, beach games, and a real sense of purpose behind the fun.
The return of the traditional summer fete was a delight, complete with stalls, sunshine, and a tremendous (and good-humoured!) tug of war that had everyone cheering.
Creative Celebrations
Music has filled our corridors this term, particularly during the Year 4 concert, where students proudly performed on the instruments they’ve been learning as part of our orchestra scheme. We also enjoyed drama showcases from Years 6 and 7, highlighting the creativity, confidence, and expression that drama brings out in our pupils.
Community and Connections
Our pupil-led Parents’ Evenings were a real highlight, giving children the opportunity to take the lead in sharing their progress and achievement. A powerful way to build pride and ownership in their learning.
Sports & Outdoor Adventures
Cricket has been in full swing this term, with students making the most of the fine weather. We’re also thrilled that the swimming pool is back in action, with pupils enjoying lessons and free swims alike.
Year 5 enjoyed a brilliant watersports and camping residential at Roadford Lake, building resilience, friendships, and paddle boarding skills! Meanwhile, Year 7 tackled wakeboarding, proving just how adventurous our pupils can be.
Our match teas have been well attended and much appreciated. Thank you for your ongoing support from the sidelines!
We head into the second half of term full of momentum and joy. Thank you, as always, for being part of our St Peter’s community. Here’s to more sunshine, celebration, and shared success in the weeks to come.
