It has been a brilliant first full week back. The timetable has stood up (always a nerve-wracking time at the start of the academic year) and a shout out please to Mrs Ball and Mrs Hurley for all of their months of work getting the Timetable ready for the academic year.
I have spent a lovely week in classrooms and catching up with staff and Parents. Highlights have been Year 3 Egyptian Day with a pupil dressed as a Pyramid really standing out!
I am delighted to let you know that Mr Doku has accepted the Director of Sport position to start in January 2023. Mr Doku has a wealth of leadership, primary and secondary Games and PE experience, is a rugby specialist, and taught one of the best lessons that Mrs Ball had ever seen. His personality and enthusiasm for the post were infectious and I think that he will be a great asset to the staff team.
The Rugby and Hockey festival for the Year 4s was a triumph with some nimble footwork and bags of enthusiasm on display. I’ve spent lots of time getting to know our new starters and playing in the new set up with the Nursery Children as well as catching up with all the pupils at lunch times. Year 8 have arrived and are enjoying glorious weather in Sennen with sunrise yoga for those most adventurous!
Enjoy the long weekend and do watch the funeral with your children, the pageantry and tradition that has been seen this week has been simply extraordinary. We will see you all on Tuesday.
Best wishes, Charlotte Johnston, Head
