This term, we have been working on updating and modernising our whole school prayer. We are delighted to share the new prayer with you.
Dear God,
Help us to know
we are loved by you.
Help us to be kind
to ourselves and others,
Now and always,
Amen.
This week has been busy and I very much enjoyed seeing some smashing hockey at a rather chilly CTCRM on Wednesday. The U10 and U11 goalies were unrecognisable in their kit! Well done to all the teams who played, also to those who took part in rugby matches. I know that the U13 girls very much enjoyed their tag rugby!
Results from the Wellington School entrance exams have come through and we are absolutely thrilled to let you know that all eight pupils were awarded places with five scholarships between them; one academic and four sports. The Head of Wellington, Mr Eugene du Toit, could not praise the children enough. He spoke of their confidence, determination, impeccable manners and excellent presentation, adding that their character as a group shone through. We couldn’t be more proud!
We strive to remain at the forefront of best practice for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. To ensure we continue to further our understanding on this important area, we are putting together a working group at School and would be delighted to welcome interested parents, particularly those with experience or specific interest in this field. Areas to be looked at include our curriculum and our working practices, from Recruitment to Admissions. We ask that those taking part commit to one meeting per term, onsite or online, and would very much welcome people with different perspectives. Please complete the Google Form, included in the newsletter, if you are interested in taking part in this review.
The PTA was busy this week and I gave a presentation on fundraising ideas, which we have shared with parents, pupils and staff in the PTA section of this newsletter. Everyone can vote on the next developments for the school benefiting from funds raised by the PTA in the poll provided. We discussed the charity ball in 2025 as well as looking at plans for a PTA summer party for parents next year.
Plans for Christmas are well underway with much rehearsing of carols and Nativity performances around the site. It is a lovely place to be!
On Monday (27 November), we welcome Mr Richard Notman, Head of Stover School, for a ‘Meet the Head’ parents’ seminar. Please come along to the Learning Hub at 16:45 if you would like to. It is open to all.
Enjoy the weekend ahead.
