Autumn term, Week 4

It is wonderful to be back in beautiful Devon, after attending the Independent Prep Schools’ Association (IAPS) annual conference which, this year, was held in Liverpool. The theme was ‘venture out’ and the keynote speakers were the CEO of the Independent Schools Council  (ISC) and the Chief Executive of the Independent Schools’ Bursars Association (ISBA).  There are challenges for the sector ahead, but it was also time to celebrate all that prep schools are doing for children.  Wellbeing remains a priority focus for all schools as well as the continued rise of technology in the classroom and as a tool for teachers.  There were some interesting talks on artificial intelligence in the classroom and what that looks like for teachers.

The formal dinner took place in the magnificent location of Liverpool Cathedral. Liverpool is an extraordinary city, rich with culture and history.  Definitely worth a visit!

I returned for the whole school photo and you can see a few pupils getting ready on the staging for to take part in the whole school photo.

Edward M had the privilege of representing Great Britain in the World Dwarf Games in Cologne, Germany, during the Summer. The competition is the largest international sporting event held exclusively for athletes with dwarfism.  Edward had incredible success winning gold, silver and bronze  medals across a range of events.  There is a report and more photographs on the community page in this newsletter.  Well done Edward!

Enjoy the weekend and please don’t forget our Open Day next Saturday 7 October for both current and prospective families.
