Unfortunately, I’ve been ill at home this week with flu (not covid!). We are still really struggling with staff off (it’s been an average of 10 staff off a day since half term) so thank you for your support and understanding.
It has been lovely to hear the children enjoying the site now that they can go on the field and play in the sunshine. Lots of work is being done here on the Summer Calendar and the Activity programme for next term. Our ‘Learning beyond the classroom’ programme continues next term with Gardening (Year 3), Wildlife (Year 4) and Beach Safety for the Year 5s, there is lots to look forward to with cricket and swimming on the horizon as well. Please can pupils have a named swimming costume, towel and hat for the girls in school from after the Easter holidays.
My thanks to the Grounds and Maintenance staff for working so hard over the holidays to get everything ready. Everyone knows the Summer Term is the BEST at St Peter’s. We also have plans for coffee mornings and afternoon teas for parents in each year group as well as a new format for Speech Day with Pre-prep in the morning, picnics on the lawn for all and Year 3-8 speech day in the afternoon followed by a whole school afternoon tea. Thursday 7 July 2022 – put the date in your diaries – and for those families with children in Pre-prep and further up the school, it is only one day to take off work!
Enjoy the weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all you brilliant Mummies out there!
