I have two examples this week of children using their initiative and interests to create opportunities for others at school. Romily, Emily and Bella from Year 6 have started an Art club for Year 1 and Year 2 on a Thursday. They made posters, have loads of ideas and had meetings with myself and Mrs Glanvill to make it happen.
Rose in Year 5 contacted me as she was upset by the homeless people she had seen on a trip to London and she wanted to do something to help. This week Rose spoke in assembly about her idea for the school to collect donations for St Petrocs, the charity for the homeless in Exeter. Please do support Rose – there will be a box in the main Reception area and the poster below explains what she is collecting. Thanks everyone and well done to these pupils.
Thank you to those who attended the Wellington School Headmaster’s talk this week; a really useful opportunity for parents. Please come to the seminar on ‘Everyone’s invited’ next Tuesday if you can. Further details can be found in this newsletter. This event is relevant for all parents, particularly Upper School.
This week has also all been about nativities – and what a treat we have all had. Thank you for the support and thank you to my amazing team and the incredible children. A triumph!
