This week, we held a wonderful event for Mr Pritchard’s retirement from St Peter’s after 38 years with us. The lawn was scattered with striped deckchairs, bunting was hung and Diana and the team threw a wonderful tea party for Mr Pritchard, the staff and some staff from years ago. It was a very happy event with stories shared and it was made more special to have Mr Pritchard’s wife, Ali, and his children, Jack and Maisy, who both attended St Peter’s as pupils, with us for the evening. There is more to come when we say farewell at Speech Day.
The Year 4s have enjoyed a wonderful residential and this Saturday the Year 8s go to their residential in France, for an immersive French-speaking week-long stay in a chȃteau, all included in the fees. What a way to finish their time here! This week they have been on a bike ride to Topsham and a trip to the beach, amongst other events. Meanwhile, rehearsals are well underway for the end of term productions and the Gardening Club is blooming!
Sports Day for Lower and Upper School took place in perfect weather conditions. Records were broken and races won. We saw determination, joy and true exertion! Thank you to the brilliant support from the parents, as well as to the Games Staff for organising these brilliant events. Staff shout out this week goes to Mr Neil Stevens, who is our Head Groundsman, as the grounds looked incredible.
Next Saturday we, for the first time, will be at the beach!
Families are welcome to join us by the safe swimming flags to the right of the lifeboat station between 13:00 and 16:00 on Saturday 25 June 2022 for fun and picnics. We will put the St Peter’s flags down and have a green gazebo. Do please come with your children, bring a picnic, a picnic blanket, some beach games and enjoy the beach.
Please note that children are under parental responsibility for the afternoon. We look forward to seeing you there.
