Summer Term 2022 Week 8

We had a very good PTA meeting this week.  My thanks, as always, to the PTA committee for their time and energy! Don’t forget the Stevensons’ uniform sale on-site on the afternoon of Monday 4 July 2022 and there will also be a second-hand uniform sale on Tuesday 16 August 2022 at school at 10:00.  Thank you to Mrs Down for all her years of hard work running the PTA second-hand uniform sales and to Mrs Simcock who is taking this on from next term. There is lots of excitement about the Ball next year (Saturday 1 July 2023) with discussions of glitter, early bird tickets and booking a band on the agenda.

This week saw the Year 5 production of ‘The Wind in the Willows’.  It was such a brilliant evening with sparkling performances from the children.  Well done to Mrs Hurley, Mr Godwin-Brown and Mrs Evans for their work with the children; a great success.  Next week it is the turn of Year 4.  They are performing their play at the Blackmore Theatre in Exmouth and I can’t wait! A special mention also to Year 3 for their ESB (English Speaking Board) performances this week.  The children had to learn a poem, do a little presentation and read a book extract.  It was quite a challenge, but the results were well worth the hard work.  At the time of writing they are now on their first residential.  There was huge excitement on-site when they left.

This week’s staff shout-out is jointly to Mrs Saltmarsh and Mrs Draper, our incredible Matron team.  They are a calm, steady pair of hands looking after the children, and all the staff, be it on Sports Day or just dealing with bumps and grazes after playtime.  Thank you both!

Thank you for your voting on the School Charity for next year.  I will let you know the results on Speech Day!

Don’t forget it is ‘St Peter’s at the Beach’ tomorrow (Saturday 25 June 2022).  We will be there to the right of the lifeboat station at 13:00, please do bring a picnic lunch.  Hopefully the weather will improve!
