Autumn term 2026, week 5

A Very Special Year 8

I couldn’t be more proud of how our Year 8 has started this academic year. Every single one has impressed me with their smartness, maturity and responsible attitude. They tell me it feels very different not having a year above them, but they are clearly enjoying their new position as the oldest children in the school, particularly looking after our younger children and walking them up to school in the mornings.

I chatted to our Year 8 Leaders yesterday morning and there was plenty of excitement about the day ahead. The girls were looking forward to their rugby match in the afternoon, while the boys undertook some training.

You can spot our Year 8 leaders around school by the coloured bands and stripes on their blazers. Our House Captains wear their House colours around the cuffs, our Heads of Sport have purple bands, Georgia, our Head of Wellbeing, wears white, and our Heads of School, Izzie and Laurie, have yellow stripes. It is lovely to see the different ways in which they are taking on leadership across the school.

A Wonderful Open Day and World Teachers’ Day

On Saturday, we had a very successful Open Day, welcoming current parents, grandparents and prospective families. The school looked absolutely wonderful, and I was once again reminded how lucky we are to have such a wonderful staff team here at St Peter’s.

Monday was World Teachers’ Day, so I would like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to every teacher who works at St Peter’s. Your care, energy, creativity and commitment ensure that our children thrive every day.

I feel incredibly fortunate to lead such a talented and dedicated team. I know you will join me in thanking them for everything they do.

Have a lovely weekend all with your families.
