Today we celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. It was joyous to see the children coming to school in their wonderful crowns and we have certainly enjoyed a fantastic tea. The wind band has been practising for weeks and sounded in excellent form for ‘God Save the King’. Senior Choir started the day with some foot-stamping joy in their rehearsal too. We are big believers here in the power of good music and our new staff and children are always blown away by our fun community singing, including quite a lot of sea shanties, as well as the more serious events.
Cricket matches went ahead this week, thank goodness, although parents and children were so wet on Thursday that they looked like it had actually been a rugby match.
Thank you to those families who were interviewed by The Good Schools Guide and we will let you know as soon as the review is out.
Next week we look forward to the sponsored walk on Woodbury Common in aid of The Royal Marines Charity. Children in Nursery through to Year 4 will be marching up to the Hallett Field to raise money.
Our wonderful PTA is going full throttle with plans for the Summer Fete on 10 June and the Summer Ball on 1 July. We can’t wait!
Enjoy the long weekend with your families and we will see you on Tuesday. Hopefully, the sun will shine!
