At St Peter’s Preparatory School, we will be accepting 15 hours (the universal entitlement to which all 3-4 years olds are entitled) and 30 hours of government funding in our Reception classes in the next academic year (2018-19), as we have been doing this year. We will also be continuing to accept them both in Nursery as well.
The result is that if parents of Reception children in Michaelmas (autumn) term 2018 have secured the eligibility code for 30 hours, they can book their child into Reception at St Peter’s for 5 days a week, 4 of which are funded by the government. However, if you would like your child to have a hot lunch (currently £5 per day) or use early arrivals or late stayers, then additional charges apply.
Once your child ceases to be eligible for 15 or 30 hours of funding i.e. in the term after they turn 5, then Reception children revert to our normal published fee structure.
Those who wish to book their child into Reception using government funding need to let us know whether their child will be attending from 08:30 until 16:00 or whether they wish to pay £20 per day to be able to drop their child as early as 08:00 and pick up as late as 18:00. This £20 charge includes a hot lunch. Additional hours and hot lunches must be booked on a termly basis.
It is our recommendation and expectation that Reception children aged 4 are in school 5 days a week. Consequently, if you have the 30 hours eligibility code and do opt for 08:30 to 16:00 4 days a week, there will be a fifth day for which you will be charged at our normal rates. It is important that we know which day of the week is your fifth day, as on this day you will be entitled to drop your child early and pick up late and we need to ensure their name is on the early arrivals’ and late stayers’ registers.
For further information and to confirm the booking arrangements for your child in our Reception in September 2018, please email our Registrar and Marketing Manager, Ms Rachel Elliott (rachel.elliott@stpetersprepschool.co.uk).
