I am writing this whilst looking over the Exe estuary on a glorious October day, watching lots of very happy children playing after lunch; a truly wholesome scene!
I would like to draw your attention to the Family Open Day that we are holding on the morning of Saturday 12 October. This is such a popular event every year where your children get the chance to show you around the school. The younger pupils like visiting the older classrooms, the science lab and art rooms and the older pupils love to revisit their old haunts in Pre-prep. It is a super time to catch up with staff, meet our new staff members and enjoy coffee and croissants. The children are awarded house points in a ‘passport’ for each room they visit. We will be running talks throughout the morning and are also welcoming prospective families to tour the school.
10:00 Welcome by the Head for prospective families (Hub)
10:15 Introduction to EYFS by Mrs Glanvill (PA room)
11:15 Pastoral care at St Peter’s by Mrs Hughes (PA room)
11:30 Academic life at St Peter’s by Mrs Wellington-Smith & Dr Evans (PA room)
Please see the Open Day section later in the newsletter for further details and I look forward to seeing you all there.
I saw some cracking Hockey at CTCRM on Wednesday and I know that there were some tremendous away matches against Exeter Cathedral School and Exeter School.
I am away inspecting a school in London next week and I look forward to seeing you all on my return.
Enjoy the weekend with your families.
